Melbourne FC Women

Image

The first official female side playing under the Melbourne FC banner took part in a match against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday 29 June 2013. The same two teams played the return match on Saturday 28 June 2014, and again in 2015.

In both years a draft of nominated female players took place before the match, but the clubs retained a number of players. An official AFL Women's competition was launched in 2017.
