Needing to beat the Crows by 27 points or more to make the finals, the Demons collapsed to the worst performance in the history of their AFLW club. Goalless until midway through the last quarter, Melbourne were thrashed around the ground and were unable to hold the Crows back. By quarter time their finals hopes were in tatters, and Adelaide ensured they wouldn't be pushed to percentage in the race for a finals berth from Conference B by pulling away to an easy win.
A rushed behind left the Demons level with Brisbane's record low AFLW score of 1.2.8. The record was taken a week later by Geelong scoring 1.0.6.
Best were O'Dea, Downie and Mithen
