Coaching statistics

Former Adelaide coach who joined the Demons as Director of Sports Performance in late 2011 after being sacked by the Crows midway through the year.

He began his football career by playing 319 SANFL games for Norwood, Sturt and North Adelaide and appearing 11 times for South Australia before being inducted into the SA Football Hall of Fame.

Before becoming the Crows longest serving coach he was fitness adviser during their back-to-back premierships of 1997 and 1998 and advised the Australian cycling team at the 2000 Olympics.

In June 2013 Craig was named caretaker senior for the remainder of the season after the dismissal of Mark Neeld. He became the second old senior coach in club history, behind only Checker Hughes and his one game caretaker stint as coach in 1965.

In his time as coach the Demons had a brief revival of fortunes and won their second game of the year with a thrilling victory over the Western Bulldogs in Round 14, but soon after his side slipped back into old habits - culminating in two scores of below 40 in a fortnight and a 122 point loss to North Melbourne. He finished his time as coach with just one win from 11 matches - the second lowest winning percentage of any Melbourne FC coach.

When Paul Roos was named Melbourne's new senior coach it was announced that Craig would leave the club, and he joined Essendon as an assistant to Mark Thompson for 2014. He remained there until the end of 2015 when he joined Carlton as coaching director, and later worked with the English rugby team. In 2019 he joined Gold Coast.
