A boyhood Melbourne fan, the defender was picked by Fitzroy with the second selection in the 1991 National Draft. West Coast had considered using a pre-draft priority selection on him but when they opted not to, the Lions were free to take him in the open draft. Seecamp spent three seasons with the Lions before being swapped to Melbourne for Martin Pike and Wayne Lamb.
Ever-present in his first season, Seecamp's stocks fell to the point where 1998 became a make-or-break year. The arrival of Jamie Shanahan from St Kilda, and the improved form of Anthony Ingerson help take the pressure off him. It was his best year at Melbourne, despite being suspended for a total of five matches during the season. In Round 17 he was suspended for striking North's Brett Chandler, despite testifying that the ex-Fitzroy teammates were actually best friends who had planned an end of season fishing trip. He had already been suspended for three matches earlier in the year for punching Brad Pearce in the face after the quarter-time siren in Round 4, retaliating for a punch to his stomach by the Carlton forward.
Seecamp played another fourteen games in 1999 but was once again on the wrong side of the umpires, suspended for four matches for headbutting in Round 22. After serving most of the suspension in the NAB Cup he was back in the side for Round 2, 2000 but played just four matches before suffering a knee injury. He didn't play another senior game, and in 2001 he joined ACT side Ainslie, where Jamie Shanahan had just been appointed coach. As late as 2006 Seecamp was playing football at Apollo Bay, having also coached Colac.
Seecamp won the 100m sprint competition at the 1996 Lightning Premiership.
