Half-forward flanker who came to the club through the Scholarship Squad, played Under 19's in 1976 and debuted in the first game the next year. He became the first Scholarship Squad player to graduate to the seniors.

He had a delayed start to the 1980 season due to a knee injury suffered in a practice match but still managed 15 matches.

After not playing a game in 1982 Moir was traded to North Melbourne in a straight swap for Rodney Wright at the end of that year. He did not manage a game for North.

Moir's nephew Jayden Hunt joined the Demons in 2014.
