A hot start saw the Demons three goals in front until Port kicked their first goal of the game late in the first term, and they further extended their lead in the second quarter before stopping cold. Port overturned a four goal lead before half time and took the lead, going on to win comfortably.
Best were Hogan, Brayshaw and Garland. Jack Viney replaced Neville Jetta in the third quarter.
