DOB: 18 October 1987
From: South Croydon/Labrador/Box Hill, Selection #53, 2012 National Draft
Numbers: 45 2013-2016
A midfielder drafted at age 25 after a season with Box Hill in the VFL, Jones had been in the Eastern Ranges system as a 16-year old, but was released before reaching their Under 18's program. He returned to South Croydon before playing 2011 in the QAFL.
After joining Box Hill he rapidly improved after a rocky start to the 2012 season to the point where the Demons were happy to take a punt on him with a late draft pick and he impressed in the pre-season to the point where he made his debut in Melbourne's first game of 2013.
He impressed in an often overwhelmed Demon midfield and was one of only a handful of players to appear in every match for the season, eventually finishing fourth in the club's Best and Fairest award.
He played a further 20 games the next season, but late in the year was dropped for the first time in his career with the club and in 2015 he played just nine games after falling out of favour.
