Former Blues forward who was traded to the Demons after a disappointing 2014, but reinvigorated his career with his new side. Playing as a small forward he kicked a goal in every match of the season and finished as his side's second highest goalscorer.

Played a further 17 games in 2016 but struggled in the second half of the year and was dropped multiple times.

In 2017 he returned to a permanent role in the Demons' forward line, leading the goalkicking with 42 and playing all but one game. During the year he wore Number 67 for one game as part of an indigenous affairs campaign.

Garlett's 2018 campaign was disappointing, playing the first five games of the year and kicking four goals against Brisbane in Round 2 but then being dropped until Round 16. He played the next six but was then dropped again before the finals.

Had another troubled 2019, injuring his shoulder in a pre-season match and not playing a senior game until Round 6. After a seven week stint in the team he re-injured his shoulder, putting him out for the rest of the season. He was delisted at the end of the year.

Garlett's cousins Lance Franklin, Cruize Garlett and Des Headland all played AFL football.
