Midfielder selected with Melbourne's second pick in the 2020 AFLW National Draft. Played every match in her debut season and was nominated for the league's Rising Star award. Continued to be a consistent member of the side's midfield in 2022, playing another 11 games including the Grand Final but missed the 2022 winter season after suffering a serious back injury in a training accident, fracturing her spine after slipping while lifting weights
McNamara returned to the side in 2023, playing every game for the year. Signed a two year contract extension at the end of the season. In 2024, McNamara spent more time in the midfield, registering more than 30 disposals in a game three times.
