First Game - Round 5, 1987 vs Brisbane Bears

A ground at which the Demons failed to crack a five figure attendance in their first six attempts. In just their 5th game, with the side actually nudging the top 5, the Bears could only draw 7400 fans and by the time they had hit rock bottom (several times) in 1992 the Round 12 clash between the sides saw just 4902 through the gates.

Soon enough the Bears would move to the Gabba and eventually become the Lions on route to much more success, and better crowds, but we would be sent back there twice during the 2000's to play matches as part of the AFL's march into the Gold Coast market.

Melbourne played their first game at the newly redesigned Metricon Stadium against the Gold Coast in Round 20, 2013. They had also played a NAB Cup match there in 2012.
