1993 Reserves Grand Final

Saturday 25 September - MCG

Melbourne 7.4, 10.9, 11.10, 13.12.90
North Melbourne 0.1, 4.4, 5.9, 7.14.56

Melbourne win by 24 points

Goalkickers: Darren Bennett 3, Darren Cuthbertson 3, Chris Sullivan 2, Adrian Campbell 1, Rod Keogh 1, Matthew Mackay 1, Michael Pickering 1, Scott Simister 1

After three grand final failures, Melbourne finally won a Reserves flag courtesy of a seven goal to nil first quarter. Bennett got all three of his goals, and Cuthbertson two of his three in the opening term. That set up a match winning 45 point lead, and a side bolstered by a number of senior players held off North for the rest of the game. The Kangaroos won every quarter after the first but were too far behind to challenge.

Best were Dyson, Doyle and Adrian Campbell. Andy Goodwin was reported for striking during the second quarter.
