Former Hawthorn Under 19s and Reserves defender who didn't make the Hawks' list when the Under 19s were abolished.
Delisted at the end of 1992, Mackay continued to train with the club and was redrafted at the start of 1993. He didn't play a game again, despite converting from defence to attack and kicking 32 goals in the 1993 Reserves side - including nine in a game against North Melbourne.
Played for Frankston from 1994 to 1998, then North Ballarat in 1999.
