After selling home games to the Gabba and Manuka Oval during the 2000s, the Demons sought to capitalise on the fame of their indigenous players by signing a deal with the Northern Territory government to play one match a year in Darwin.
The Demons first clash at the ground ended in a thriller as they withstood a massive comeback from the Power to emerge as one point winners. They also won their second game at the ground, before losing the next two. In 2013 their opponent changed from Port Adelaide to the Brisbane Lions and has rotated amongst other teams since.
