A former Scotch College premiership captain, Chiron debut with the Saints as a forward and kicked a career best six goals in a match during his second season but then missed a year before moving to Footscray for one game in 1986.

Rejecting interest from VFA side Williamstown, Chiron crossed to Melbourne the next year, became a tagger and played in the 1987 finals series but was suspended for striking in the Elimination Final.

He played seven games in 1988 and one in 1989 before being delisted. He never returned to the side after suffering a shoulder injury in the Round 3 match which later flared up at training. Signed for VFA side Williamstown in 1990.

In 1999 he coached Clarence in the Tasmanian State League before playing in the ACT. Later he turned his hand to over-age ironman triathalons.
