Biggest win and highest score against Collingwood and at Princes Park
Needing a win to keep their finals hopes alive, Melbourne ran out easy victors against the wooden spooners. They were more than seven goals in front at three quarter time, and with their job done they coasted to a big win that temporarily had them inside the top eight. A win by Essendon over Carlton at the same ground that night pushed the Demons down to ninth, missing the finals for the first time since 2019.
Best were Hore, McNamara, and Hanks.
