Paul Williams

DOB: 3 April 1973

Midfield coach whose tenure coincided with the lean 2007-2008 seasons and the transition from Neale Daniher to Dean Bailey.

Coming to Melbourne from Sydney's stoppage based game plan, many felt Williams was unable to match his strategies with the more running based Dean Bailey game plan.

After refusing a new deal for the 2009 season, he elected to join the Western Bulldogs. He was replaced in 2009 by former Bulldog great Scott West in a part time role that was increased to full time for the 2010 season.

Williams was appointed as the Bulldogs caretaker coach before Round 22, 2011 when Rodney Eade resigned. He became a midfield coach at Carlton in 2012 but was dismissed after one season when Mick Malthouse took over as coach.
