Hawthorn win by 25 points
The Hawks won comfortably, but they were still disappointing against the rock bottom last Demons. Melbourne's dysfunctional forward line had managed to craft 14.13, including three posters, enough to give Hawthorn supporters a chill just three weeks out from the finals.
Tony Sullivan had a great game in the centre after replacing Denis Clark, who was forced from the field with a hamstring injury. He was one of the main reasons that the Demons stayed in touch for most of the day with a lethargic Hawks side. Greg Wells was best on ground, and Chamberlain and Baker were also good.
