Athletic defender signed as a replacement player for pregnant captain Daisy Pearce before the 2019 AFLW season. Didn't play a game in her first season, before debuting in the opening round of 2020. She played every game for her first two seasons, and despite missing two weeks in the middle of the 2022 summer season, recaptured her spot in time to play in the finals. Later that year, Sherriff played in Melbourne's first AFLW premiership side.

In 2023, Sherriff moved permanently into the forward line. She played every game of the home and away season, before a fractured arm in Round 10 ended her season before finals.

At the end of the season she was traded to Hawthorn with Eliza West and National Draft selection #16 for selections #5 and #26.
