Returning to Casey Fields after a surprise loss to Fremantle a week earlier, the Demons were jumped again in their first ever meeting with Sydney after the visitors kicked the first two goals. Only a late goal on the run from a difficult angle by Kate Hore kept the margin under a goal. From there, it was all Melbourne as they overwhelmed the visitors and went away to an easy win. Sydney didn't kick another goal, and the Demons firmly established themselves in the top four.
Best were Hanks, Zanker, and Gillard
