The competition was expanded to 20 teams with the introduction of a number of interstate clubs. After a number of breaks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the season was cancelled in mid-August with no premiership awarded. Ladder standings were calculated on match ratio due to the uneven number of games played between teams.
