Melbourne beat three other clubs to the signature of the 17-year-old ex-basketballer, who officially joined the club as a Category B rookie in November 2018. He had not played football since 2015, concentrating on junior basketball. Spent the season playing with Casey Demons and the Sandringham Under 18s team as he developed his ruckwork. His development during 2020 was affected by the cancellation of the VFL season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He didn't play a game in 2021 and was delisted at the end of the season.
Bradtke is the son of Australian basketball Hall of Fame inductee Mark, and former tennis professional Nicole.
