From: Devon Meadows/Dandenong Stingrays, Selection #2 2013 Rookie Draft
Games: 91* (to end 2019)
Melbourne used the second overall pick in the 2013 Rookie Draft on a lifelong Demons fan who had impressed with an outstanding TAC Cup playing in the Dandenong midfield. Before his TAC Cup career began, Harmes played eight games in the Devon Meadows senior team as a 16-year-old.
Signed a two year contract extension in mid-2018, and had a career best season. He played every game for the year, and became a vital cog in his side's midfield during the season including a number of high profile tagging jobs. He was prominent again in 2019, used more as a standard midfielder than a tagger, including a career best 35 touches against Collingwood on Queen's Birthday.
