After three losses before their bye, Melbourne returned from the break and found themselves six goals down at quarter time. Despite losing two players to concussion before half time, and ending the game with a number of places suffering from cramp, the visitors came back from 46 points down at three quarter time to finish with a more respectable margin.
Best were Pickett, Melksham, and Petracca.
Harry Sharp replaced Blake Howes (concussion) in the second quarter. Harrison Petty was also concussed. Kysaiah Pickett was fined $3125 for striking. A number of players were also fined for engaging in a melee/wrestling - Steven May ($1000 fine), Christian Salem ($1000 fine), Jack Viney ($3125 fine)), Clayton Oliver ($1875 fine)), and Jake Melksham ($1000 fine)). Viney was also fined $1000 for careless umpire contact, and Oliver $1000 for an obscene gesture.
