Small forward known for his defensive pressure. Debuted in the second last game of 2019 but was injured and missed the last game of the year. Chandler then had a delayed start to 2020 after fracturing his wrist during pre-season training. He also broke his hand during the season and didn't play a game. In 2021 he was selected five times, but four times as unused medical substitute. The only game of the five where he appeared on field was the Round 9 win over Carlton. In 2022 he wasn't selected to start any of his four matches, playing limited game time as a medical substitute three times, and not being used once.
Played in Casey's 2022 VFL premiership side, and was promoted to the senior list at the end of the season. 2023 was his breakout year, with 14 goals in the first eight rounds. When the goals dried up, Chandler was dropped, but made it back to the side in time for Melbourne's ill-fated finals campaign. During the year he picked up his first Brownlow Medal votes. In 2024 he played another 23 games, but saw his goal tally drop in a side that fell down the ladder.
