In hot, blustery conditions Melbourne got off to a fast start and had three goals on the board - including their first Nine point Supergoal since 2011 before St Kilda managed a late six pointer to stay in touch.

The Saints were unbeatable in the second quarter, kicking seven straight goals until Melbourne managed their only consolation goal late in the term.

After an even third quarter Melbourne made a brief run early in the final term before St Kilda steadied and recorded a comfortable victory.
