DOB: 2 January 1994
From: Flinders Park/Woodville-West Torrens, Selection #4, 2012 National Draft
Numbers: 5 2013-2015
Dimitri "Jimmy" Toumpas burst onto the senior football scene in late 2011 when he debuted for Woodville-West Torrens in the last match of the home and away season before holding onto his spot in the seniors through the Grand Final and playing in the Eagles' premiership side.
The midfielder then joined Melbourne with the Demons first pick in the 2012 Draft after captaining South Australia in the Under 18 National Championships.
After debuting in Melbourne's disappointing Round 1, 2013 loss to Port Adelaide and playing in the 148 point debacle against Essendon in Round 2, Toumpas played one more match before being dropped. He returned for a single game in Round 8 and ended up playing 14 matches for the season.
Toumpas had a disappointing second year, playing the first two matches of the season before being dropped. He was called up as a late change in the Round 9 win over Richmond but was dropped again and returned for just one more match before being dropped a second time. A bout of severe appendicitis late in the season finished his year, and he ended the season playing for the Casey Demons.
He was sparingly used again in 2015, playing just nine matches for the year and was traded to Port Adelaide at the end of the season in a deal that netted Melbourne draft picks 29 and 50 and also sent Jeremy Howe to Collingwood.
