DOB: 28 June 1991
From: Orroroo/Prince Alfred College/North Adelaide, Selection #18 2009 National Draft
Number: 35 (2010-2014)
Drafted after representing South Australia at the Under 18 championships, being named an All-Australian, and playing six senior SANFL games from 2009, Tapscott was originally thought of as a forward but played much of his early senior career in the backline.
Tapscott experienced an injury interrupted first season with the Demons after suffering a hip injury in the pre-season. He returned to the VFL with Casey and was pushing for selection late in the season when a shoulder injury ended his year.
Making his league debut in the Round 1, 2011 draw against Sydney, Tapscott impressed immediately with his long kicking and confident work in defence. He was a feature of the side until injuring his hamstring in the Round 9 match against St Kilda, not returning until Round 17 after which he missed just one game for the rest of the year.
He appeared in a further 14 games during his second senior season, and a career high 16 in 2013 where he was mainly used as a half-forward.
His 2014 campaign had a late start after he suffered a knee injury in an intra-club match, and he only managed three games for the year. His last came in Round 19 against Brisbane when his knee was injured again.
Tapscott was the final player delisted by the Demons that year, on the last day before list lodgement. He joined Mornington Peninsula Football League side Sorrento for 2015. He remained there through 2018, coaching the side that year.
