As a junior, Goldberg won five best and fairest awards for Ajax, before graduating to the senior side aged 15. He played as a defender.
Joined VFA side Sandringham in 1992 and played two games before adding 19 more with Springvale in 1993 and 1994.
Twin brother of Brian Goldberg who played in the same Under 19s team. Vice-captain at Ajax in 1996, then played for Old Scotch in 1997 before returning to Ajax, where he stayed through 1999.
