Alex Gray

Alex Gray 2 The former Northcote captain/coach also served as a councillor in the City of Northcote from 1928 to 1938. He played in five VFA premierships between 1928 and 1938, captaining Northcote's 1936 premiership side. He coached amateur side State Savings Bank in 1940. He was also principal of a successful real estate business.

Gray replaced Jack Chessell as Melbourne's club Secretary early in 1948 and served for two years. He was elected Mayor of Northcote in September 1948.

His son Malcolm was president of the International Cricket Council from 2000 to 2003.
