Seconds Premiership Player - 1931
Ruck and half-forward who played two senior games for VFA side Brighton at the end of 1928. That season he was also named the Best and Fairest player in the A-Grade amateurs for his performances with Grammarians.
Melbourne was forced to win a clearance for him after it was discovered, at the last minute, that he'd lived in the St Kilda local zone for the previous three years.
From there he was a lightly used player across three seasons, including a broken ankle in 1930.
His VFL career ended with a Seconds premiership in 1931.
Also a member of Australia's water polo team.

Listed as L. Cassidy in 1929 Football Record. Some sources say he started 1929 playing in the Amateurs, and played state football against the SA Amateurs before being recruited to join Melbourne midway through the season.
