The son of premiership player Adrian Dullard was also a ruckman/defender, but 8cm taller and 11kg heavier than his father he was more of a power player.

He had been residentially tied to Collingwood but the father/son rule of the day allowed him to join the Demons instead. He played most of his first year in the reserves before making his senior debut as one of only two players in the league at the time who wore contact lenses during matches. He had two kicks after coming off the bench, but both were goals.

Claiming he wasn't getting 'a fair go' Dullard quit Melbourne in May 1980 and demanded a clearance, but he was lured back to finish his VFL career with the side before joining VFA side Williamstown.
