Having rebounded from a bad run to nick a win against Adelaide in Round 13 the Demons travelled to Perth with memories of their season building victory on the same ground in Round 14, 1998 still fresh in their minds.
This time they couldn't recreate the magic and went down to a defeat despite threatening in the third quarter. A period of domination raked in just 1.3 and the Eagles went on to extend their lead in the final quarter.
White, Leoncelli and Hopgood were amongst the Demons best.
Despite the defeat, the Demons were just one win and 6 percentage points outside the top eight.
