One of four players to debut in the opening round of the 2009 season, Jetta played the first five matches of the season and fifteen in total as a small forward. He spent the first two months of 2010 at Casey, before returning for six games in a row from Round 9. He then returned to the VFL, and his season ended with a shoulder injury.

After playing the first two rounds of 2011, Jetta was dropped again. He didn't make it back to the senior side until Round 8, where he laid a game-high 12 tackles. Soon dropped again he only returned for the last two matches. An ankle injury cost Jetta the first half of 2012. He returned for six matches late in the year, and signed a one year contract extension. Jetta played for the Indigenous All-Stars against Richmond before 2013 but failed to establish a spot in Melbourne's senior side, playing just four matches in the first half of the season, then the final game of the year. He was delisted, but reselected with the club's final selection in the 2013 Rookie Draft.

Jetta was promoted back to the senior list before Round 5, 2014 after Jack Trengove was placed on the long term injury list. He reinvented himself as one of the team's best small defenders and received a two year contract extension in August that year. Before the 2015 season Jetta represented the Indigenous All-Stars again, and continued to be a first choice player in Melbourne's defence despite missing several weeks with a concussion. In 2016 he played his most complete year yet, missing one game and being one of his side's best defenders. 2017 was another strong year in defence, and after playing every game he was unlucky not be shortlisted for All Australian honours. He was later named in the Australian International Rules squad. In Round 10 he temporarily switched to Number 50 as part of an indigenous recognition campaign.

He played every game in 2018, including three finals, and won the Jim Stynes Community Award at that year's Brownlow Medal. Hit by injuries in 2019, he missed 12 weeks with a knee injury, then returned for three more games before further knee trouble ended his year. Jetta struggled in 2020, playing just six games, and going out of the side between Round 8 and Round 17. In 2021 he lost his spot in the side after Round 4, playing just one more game and retiring at the end of the year. He joined Collingwood as a development coach and VFL player for 2022.
