Western Australian forward who stayed at home in 1993 and 1994. Melbourne officials travelled to Perth in early 1994 to try and get a commitment from Bartul before the new Fremantle team entered the competition in 1995. Bartul missed 15 weeks with stress fractures and shin splints during 1994. He then crossed to Melbourne to play Reserves during 1995 but didn't appear in a senior match and returned to South Fremantle in 1997.
