Cleared from Geelong before the 1909 season he played in the first game of the year. It was his only match for the side, and he went to VFA side Williamstown in June. He played there through 1910, having a late start to the season due to rowing commitments.

In 1912 and 1913 he played 19 games for South Australian club Norwood.

Enlisted in the Army in September 1915 and served in the First World War.
