Statistical categories led:
Largest loss and lowest score in any game, against Essendon, and at Windy Hill

After losing after the siren in their previous game, Melbourne returned to Victoria for another game around the middle of the ladder and hoping to take a step in the finals race. On the Grand Final Eve public holiday, they were thrashed in their first visit to Windy Hill. The Bombers got off to a fast start, and while Melbourne's defence won credit keeping the damage down after their side had been dominated, they were unable to stop the home side piling on scores. After a lucky snap from Ryleigh Wotherspoon scored her side's first goal, the Demons didn't score again in the last three quarters. With Shelley Heath (shoulder) and Eliza McNamara (broken nose) out injured, they were unable to pass their previous lowest score, and were beaten by a record margin.

Best were Chaplin, Gillard, and Goldrick.
