The Dees went north to play under lights and finally won their first game of a troubled pre-season. After going into quarter time narrowly behind in a 10 goal quarter, the Dees pulled away in the second. The margin was built on a seven goal to one final term. Jakovich kicked 10.4.
Best were Jakovich, Lovett and T. Viney. Garry Lyon, Jim Stynes and Paul Bryce all suffered ankle injuries.
