On King's Birthday Monday the Demons suffered their second straight defeat, putting them back in the field chasing for a spot in the four instead of the double chance they'd been looking at a fortnight earlier.
Carlton were in red hot form, having won four in a row, and were too fast for the Demons who were disappointing after quarter time.
La Fontaine, Baggott and Anderson were best.
Seconds (played Saturday 14 June)
Carlton 20.17 d. Melbourne 13.6
