In a battle between sides already eliminated from finals contention, Fitzroy ended their season with a fourth straight win. Turning a 20 point quarter time lead into 63 at the final change, before relaxing and allowing the Demons to finish their season with a seven goal final term.
Neale Balme was scathing of his side, suggesting the result "colours my view of the year".
Best were Neitz, S. Febey and Lyon. Andy Lovell and Matthew Febey were concussed. Fitzroy's Darren Wheildon was reported for shaking a goal post during the second quarter.
