The Demons dominated with the wind in the second quarter and racked up a remarkable 5.13 to 0.1. When Footscray had their chance with the strong Geelong Road end breeze in the third quarter they only manage three goals, leaving the Demons free reign to run riot in the last and take the match comfortably.

Ray Biffin played as a full-forward when the Demons had the wind, and then as a defender when they were defending against it.

Biffin, S. Smith and McKellar were best. Flower (shoulder) was replaced by Carroll in the first quarter and McKellar by Johnston in the last quarter.
