First Goal
Billy Barham (2nd game)

The finals aspirant Cats were initially taken aback by the quick play and handball of the Demons but slowly worked their way back into the game to take control.

After a first half where Denis Clark (19 kicks) and Greg Wells were brilliant the Cats coach Polly Farmer gave his side a blast and played a handful of positional moves which helped shut Stan Alves out of the game and get his team back on top.

The Demons ruck division of Carl Ditterich and Garry Baker battled hard but with Clark's input dropping off and both Wells and Alves being cut out of the game they couldn't inspire their side to victory. Williamson was replaced by Chamberlain in the last quarter. Slade was an unused reserve.
