The pacy wingman/defender was drafted after playing senior football in Tasmania the previous season, but despite playing five senior matches for Sandringham he never graduated to the AFL.

A shoulder injury in 2006 and two seasons suffering from Osteitis Pubis didn't help his cause, and he was axed at the end of 2007. He did a pre-season with the VFL's Tasmanian side at the end of that year but broke down again.

Neville made a return to Tasmania to play for Hobart in 2010, and was named as an assistant coach in 2016 and director of the club in 2018

A Heath Neville played for the Northern Bullants during 2006. It is not the same player.
