Fred Pleass

Life Member - 1945

Originally a player with Albert Park, then Subiaco until his career was ended by a knee injury, "Massa" Pleass was head trainer of St Kilda in 1920, and at Richmond in 1923 before joining Melbourne.

He became head trainer in 1924 and served for 32 years, before retiring at the end of 1956 due to ill-health.

In Round 15, 1936 he was injured in a boundary line collision with Jack Mueller, leaving him with a bruised leg and an injured shoulder.
