1927 pre-season follower, half-back or forward. Travelled to Melbourne without persuasion to try his luck in the VFL, but was refused a clearance by the WA League, then by the VFL when it was revealed he'd moved out of Melbourne's district and into Carlton's too soon. Eventually made it Melbourne but didn't play a game and was cleared Brunswick in June 1927, before joining Carlton in 1928.
