Two time Fitzroy premiership player who played on a wing for the Maroons before moving to Collingwood in 1903 where he won another flag.
In 1908 he retired and became a VFL field umpire for two seasons before being lured to Melbourne as senior coach, replacing Alex Hall. After an unsuccessful rookie coaching season he moved to St. Kilda and won two games there in 1911.
