DOB: 12 May 1946
Ex-Carlton player who was first linked to the Demons in 1976 when his contact at Footscray expired. He was well on the way to Melbourne until they signed Craig McKellar for $35,000 and were forced to slash their $12,000 bid for Gallagher in half.
Joined the Demons as Reserves coach in 1980 and remained an assistant coach and member of the selection committee through 1984.
Gallagher and Ron Barassi operated the Mountain View Hotel in Bridge Road, Richmond.
