West Coast win by 29 points
2 - James McDonald
Firm favourites despite coming off two losses in a row, the Demons faced an Eagles side without a win at the MCG since early 2007, and just one of the last 25 away from Subiaco.
In a terrible quality match the two sides traded blunders throughout the first half. The Demons racked up their 18th first quarter with one goal or less under Dean Bailey, and the Eagles took an early lead with two goals from the deadly accurate Josh Kennedy. Down the other end Melbourne had no forward line structure and struggled to score. Goals from a free kick and a 50m penalty helped them take the game into half time with scores level, but from there they got just one more goal for the match and the Eagles ran out comfortable winners.
Best were McDonald, Frawley and Jamar.
