Originally drafted by North Melbourne in the 2010 Rookie Draft, Daw became the first Sudanese born AFL player when he made his senior debut in 2013. He kicked six goals in his fourth game but only played twice more for the season. He was delisted by North at the end of 2015, then selected by them again in that year's Rookie Draft.

Daw played 16 games combined across 2016 and 2017, highlighted by a four goal performance in an Elimination Final. He was then switched into defence for 2018. In December that year he was seriously in a fall from Melbourne's Bolte Bridge, suffering broken hips and pelvis. The injuries kept him out for all of 2019, before returning to play four games in 2020.

At the end of that season he was delisted by North Melbourne and signed for North Heidelberg. Melbourne offered him a chance to train in the 2021 pre-season and he was offered a position on the rookie list as part of the Supplemental Selection Period. He couldn't break into a strong team, failing to play a game during the season.

Daw missed his chance of a senior game when he suffered a pec injury in mid-2022, just as fellow ruckmen Max Gawn and Luke Jackson were injured. He retired shortly after, applying for a clearance to rejoin North Heidelberg. In 2024 he joined Deer Park.
