Tasmanian recruit who played against Melbourne as part of a representative team before travelling to the mainland to begin his VFA career. He debuted in June 1890, and played until the VFL started. In 1894 he temporarily retired due to a problem with varicose veins but returned in 1895 and played eight games in Melbourne's first VFL season.
Played for Victoria against Port Adelaide in 1893.
