The winner of the Federal League Under 17 Best and Fairest in 1962 was approached by every VFL club other than Fitzroy and Geelong. He trained with Melbourne in July 1963 but didn't sign, and in September joined St Kilda. Played Reserves for them the next year but not seniors.
Coached Mentone to a flag in 1976 and coached St Bedes in 1979
